Healing Happens in Relationships

A Personal Welcome

I know that reaching out for therapy is rarely someone's first choice. Most people arrive after months—or years—of trying to figure things out on their own. Whether you're carrying the effects of trauma, feeling disconnected from your partner, or simply exhausted by the weight of life, I want you to know there is hope.

My goal is to create a space where you feel deeply understood, genuinely respected, and challenged with compassion. I believe healing is possible, and it is one of the greatest privileges of my life to walk alongside people as they discover new ways of relating to themselves and those they love.

Treating Trauma and Building Resiliency

Whether you are struggling with the effects of childhood trauma, feeling disconnected in your marriage, or simply exhausted from carrying the weight of life's experiences, therapy can become a place where lasting change begins. My role is to help you understand not only what happened to you, but how those experiences continue to shape the way you think, feel, relate, and respond today.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Texas and California, an EMDRIA Certified Therapist and Approved Consultant, and a facilitator with the EMDR Institute. Over the past decade, I have devoted my career to understanding trauma, attachment, and the remarkable capacity of the human brain and relationships to heal. My clinical work integrates EMDR, Attachment Theory, Gottman Method Couples Therapy, developmental trauma research, and systems theory to help clients create meaningful, lasting change.

My work began treating survivors of addiction, exploitation, and complex trauma, where I witnessed the extraordinary resilience of the human spirit. Those experiences continue to shape how I approach every client today—with deep respect, compassion, and the belief that people are far more than the worst things that have happened to them.

In recent years, my passion has expanded into helping couples heal. I believe that healthy relationships are one of the greatest protective factors we have. Even after years of conflict, betrayal, or emotional distance, couples can learn new ways of understanding one another, rebuilding trust, and creating secure, emotionally connected relationships. Watching that transformation unfold remains one of the greatest privileges of my work.

Above all, I believe people are capable of extraordinary growth. Whether you come to me for EMDR therapy, couples therapy, trauma therapy, or help managing anxiety, my goal is never simply to reduce symptoms. Together, we'll work to understand the experiences that shaped you, strengthen your relationships, and create lasting change. Healing does not erase the past, but it can transform the way we carry it. My hope is to provide a space where you feel deeply understood and empowered to build the life and relationships you want.

Before becoming a therapist, I proudly served eight years in the United States Navy as an Intelligence Specialist after enlisting in the months following September 11, 2001. Those years profoundly shaped who I am. Working in high-pressure environments alongside dedicated men and women from every walk of life taught me the importance of discipline, teamwork, humility, and steady leadership during uncertainty. I witnessed both the remarkable strength and the very real emotional cost that prolonged stress can have on individuals and families.

Although my career eventually shifted from military intelligence to psychotherapy, the mission has remained remarkably similar: helping people navigate adversity with courage, clarity, and resilience. Today, I continue to bring that same sense of purpose to my work—creating a calm, grounded space where clients can face life's most difficult experiences while discovering their own capacity for healing and growth.

Today, I call San Antonio, Texas home. My husband and I have been married for over 17 years and are incredibly proud of our two children. Our daughter is a nurse who has launched into adulthood and our sixteen-year-old son dreams of becoming an astrophysicist. Outside of the therapy office, you'll usually find me strength training, paddleboarding, exploring the Texas coast, reading, or spending time outdoors with my family. Nature has always been one of the places where I feel most grounded. It reminds me that growth cannot be rushed, healing happens in seasons, and even the strongest trees develop one ring at a time. That same belief shapes the way I practice therapy: meaningful change doesn't come from becoming someone else—it comes from creating the conditions where people can safely grow into who they were always meant to be.
